New parcel lockers from Hungarian Post, making winter holiday delivery even more efficient
The popularity of parcel lockers is on the rise among online shoppers, and behind home delivery this may be the second most popular way to receive parcels.
Parcel lockers offer an affordable, convenient and secure service, with 0-24 hours parcel pick-up in busy, convenient and easily accessible locations. Hungarian Post was among the first to install parcel lockers in Hungary, and by the end of the year the company’s MPL parcel lockers will be available in more than 200 municipalities.
“Our company is committed to providing the most modern and innovative logistics solutions. We are now installing another 150 MPL parcel lockers across the country to make it even more convenient for online shoppers to collect their parcels”,
says Mihály Panyi, director of parcel logistics technology and product management at Hungarian Post Zrt.
Ordering to MPL parcel lockers has many advantages: shoppers can easily pay with a debit card or a smart device, and in the case of a gift the discretion of the receipt is also guaranteed, as only the recipient of the e-mail/SMS is notified of the arrival of the parcel. MPL parcel lockers can be selected as a collection method in more than 1,000 domestic online shops. Ordering this way is also environmentally friendly, as Hungarian Post’s vehicles deliver larger quantities of parcels to the machines at a time, thus shortening delivery distances and reducing emissions.
