Egg Association: feed prices are high, consumption decreases
The rise in feed prices, the fall in consumption, overproduction, dumped imports are making the situation of egg production and egg market more difficult – said Thury Attila, Vice-Chairman of the Hungarian Egg Producers' Association at Thursday's press conference, held on occasion of the International Day of Egg in Budapest.
He pointed out that the EU directive for breeding laying hens will enter into force on the first of January 2012, that is the date until conventional cages can be used. He added that, according to the last survey in April; 32 percent of the stock was in conventional cages – reports MTI.
