More home office job opportunities have opened up in the past year than in the year before
Last year, the majority of affected employees expected a tightening of the regulations regarding home office at their workplace, but when examining the advertised jobs, this phenomenon is not confirmed. In fact, the number of job opportunities that provide some form of home work has increased by 7 percent since May of last year compared to the previous year, according to the latest analysis by Profession.hu.
Atypical, i.e. non-traditional forms of employment are present in the labor market in many forms: for example, this includes on-call work, job sharing or employment relationships established by multiple employers, but these are still not widespread in Hungary. Flexible and part-time or home office options, on the other hand, are all the more common and have gained increasing popularity in recent years.
When examining the jobs advertised over the past year, the most typical atypical form of work is still the home office, with employers mentioning it in 12.3 percent of job opportunities. As last year, part-time employment is in second place this year, accounting for 5.6 percent of the total number of advertisements.
In terms of work schedules, 80 percent of positions advertised since May 2024 require a traditional 8-hour presence, 5 days a week. 7.7 percent of advertisements require work according to a schedule, 4 percent offer flexible working hours, and 2.7 percent of companies specify a two-shift system.
