There are more active job seekers, while the number of positions waiting to be filled decreases
At the end of 2023, the lively employee activity experienced during the year continued in Hungary. In the last quarter, 20.9% more applications were received for the advertised positions than in the same period of the previous year. With the exception of the two counties of the country, the number of applications increased everywhere, with the largest proportion in the counties of Tolna, Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg and Pest, according to the latest quarterly report of Profession.hu.
Profession.hu has prepared its labor market analysis for the last quarter of 2023. Hungary’s most visited job portal saw 20.9% more employee applications during the three months under review than in the same period of the previous year. Increased employee activity was typical throughout the country, except for the counties of Nógrád (-22.9%) and Bács-Kiskun (-10.2%), where the number of applications fell short of last year. The largest increase was in the counties of Tolna (60.1%), Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg (47.1%), Pest (45%), and Békés (43.4%).
The number of applications received increased the most in the IT operation and telecommunications (61.9%), hospitality, hotel, tourism (51.4%) and IT programming and development (49.9%) categories compared to the previous year compared to its last three months, and the lowest increase was in the area of sales and trade (10.4%). A decrease occurred only in the legal and banking categories.
