Tesco: Measurable things can be managed too!
Tesco Europe has published its report on the quantity of food and other waste produced during its operations in the 2016/2017 fiscal year: Tesco stores in the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia and Hungary sold 3,325,675 tons of food and produced 60,918 tons of food and other waste during this process. From the surplus the retailer donated 8,143 tons of food to charity. Tesco Hungary sold 944,556 tons of food and 19,233 tons remained unsold – from the latter 3,421 tons were given to people in need and 5,755 tons went to animal shelters. //
