Many shops suffer from labor shortages during the summer season
This summer, too, there is a great need for labor in department stores, not only in the shops of settlements around beaches and lakes, but also in Budapest. Many large chains, such as Lidl or Aldi, are waiting for applicants who can even work part-time. To fill the positions, it is an advantage to have at least a secondary education or experience in the food trade, but the lack of these is not an exclusionary reason either, since the right candidates are trained for the tasks.
Salaries promise a nice amount, although there are significant differences depending on which settlement and business you work in. In Budapest, in the 13th district, you can earn up to HUF 430,000 gross with a 35-hour work week, and some advertisements offer even higher salaries – writes Pénzcentrum in a recent article.
Walking the streets, you can find posters and billboards looking for people for sales and cashier positions in various stores. For example, Aldi is looking for part-time store clerks in the 13th arrondissement. Duties include polite, accurate and helpful customer service, replenishing inventory, sorting merchandise, cleaning the store, and baking baked goods. In addition, cash register work, product rotation and quality control, as well as inventory management are among the tasks. Expectations include the advantage of a secondary education and experience in the food trade, as well as flexible working hours, undertaking weekend shifts, and a high degree of physical and mental workload is also an advantage.
