Magazine: A trendy drink: smoothie
SIÓ-Eckes Kft. is the Hungarian market leader fruit juice company. They define smoothie as a product made from fruits, vegetables, purées or fruit juices, either from concentrate or not, which generally doesn’t contain artificial additives. The end product is usually a thick mix of flavours that often contains something extra – spices, natural boosters or super-ingredients.

Dóra Pessenlehner, shopper marketing manager of Coca-Cola HBC Magyarország revealed that the smoothie segment still makes up for only 2 percent of sales in the fruit juice category, sales grew by 37.8 percent from 2017 to 2018. More than two thirds of smoothies sales were realised by private label products; with Cappy Smoothie the company hopes to be successful in several retail channels.
In May 2019 SIÓ-Eckes Kft. put SIÓ Smoothie on the market. Ingredients of the premium product – tailored to the taste preferences of Hungarian consumers – include the best fruit juices and exciting spices, and of course 100 percent of them are natural.
