Consumer sentiment in the United States deteriorated in January
The reported data show that the value of the consumer sentiment index decreased to 79 points from the 80.7 points in December. Analysts expected a slight decline to 79.2 points.
Among the sub-indices, the indicator of consumer expectations for the next six months decreased from 74.6 points to 74 points, and the value of the sub-indicator reflecting the current situation decreased from 90.0 points to 86.7 points. (MTI)
