PwC: human factors have become more important in choosing a job
Security, collaboration and open communication have become more valued when choosing a job, but basic salary remains the first, and respect for privacy is the second in the ranking of selection criteria, according to research conducted by PwC Hungary on Hungarian labor market preferences, which was sent to MTI on Tuesday.
According to an online survey conducted by the auditing, tax, financial, legal and business consulting firm with the participation of more than 55,000 students, university students and employees over the age of 16, everything other than a good salary Other material incentives have been replaced by human factors such as cooperation, trust and honesty among the selection criteria.
Thus, the third in the ranking is open and respectful communication, the fourth is performance appreciation, the fifth is a supportive, cooperative and trust-based team, and the sixth is a prepared supportive leader.
According to PwC, the best-performing teams are no longer distinguished by professional knowledge or technological preparedness, but by the degree of psychological safety:
Outstanding results are achieved where employees dare to ask questions, bring in new ideas and make mistakes without having to fear from shame or condemnation.
A sense of security is greatly supported by transparency, which includes clear career paths, ethical company operations, and open and honest communication from management, whether it is about restructuring or benefits, which came in seventh place based on the responses.
The consulting firm noted that the job preferences of the 9,700 university students who participated in the research are similar in many ways to the general expectations of employees, but they differ markedly in that they consider the companies’ respectful, open communication, and being seen as a full-fledged employee.
They prioritize honest, two-way dialogue over base salary, want their opinions to be heard, and companies to be open to constructive feedback
– they added.
