The people of Provance made beer already 2500 years ago
Provence in southern France is mostly famous of its wines, but it has also great brewing traditions: according to recent discoveries; people of Provance brewed beer already 2500 years ago.
According to the researchers; the brewers germinated barley and then they dryed out and roasted the seeds, than they crushed the seeds to make malt, than mixed them with beerwater and fermented in pots. This procedure is very similar to what is still used during brewing.
