Profession.hu: Employee well-being can be improved by properly separating jobs
From the point of view of employee well-being, even though it is a determining factor, merely having an adequate amount of benefits is not a sufficient factor. If the mental and social needs of colleagues related to work and the workplace are not adequately met according to individual needs, they may also feel bad in the organization, just as if they do not see exactly how much their work adds to the operation of the company. This dissatisfaction can appear in a wide variety of ways: in addition to high turnover, this can be indicated by a drop in productivity or even frequent sick leave – it is clear from the latest episode of the Profession.hu Backstage podcast, which covered the psychological aspects of workplace well-being.
Wellbeing means the effort to meet the physical, mental and social needs of employees, in order to make them feel as good as possible at the workplace, the advantages of which can include improved individual performance and lower turnover from the company’s point of view. The level of salary is only a small part of this, there are many other factors that also affect well-being at work, which together affect the employee.
“As an employer, I not only buy my employee’s mental capacity and eight hours a day, but I have to observe and respect the whole person, and this includes the body and the psyche. Everyone within the company is responsible for the fullest possible realization of employee well-being, of course it is part of the truth that top management and middle management can do the most for it. Before a company embarks on the conscious development of the employee experience it offers, it is important that what it wants to show about itself is also part of its corporate culture. And in this case, success is not a point that an organization must reach, but rather a constantly changing endeavor, the goal of which is to maintain the well-being of those currently working in the organization.”
– said Lili Simon-Göröcs, HR director of Profession.hu.
