Problems and solutions
At the request of the Tourism Advisory Board of the Ministry for National Economy, the Guild of Hungarian Restaurateurs (MVI) has compiled a list of problems in the hospitality sector, which require legislative amendments, together with proposals for their solution.

Review of the deposit return system (DRS) for beverage containers in HoReCa:

to make it possible for bars, restaurants and catering businesses to take back and manage non-glass beverage containers without the use of reverse vending machines.
Amendment of the notification requirement for temporary agency work: during events in peak periods, it is not practicable for the lender to send all the necessary information in good time and then for the borrower to register the workers concerned with the authorities once again.
Amendment and simplification of VAT rules for the catering sector: just like in many EU countries, the reduced VAT rate should apply to the supply of food and all non-alcoholic beverages – alcoholic drinks are an exception – in all catering segments, and that on-site consumption and takeaway sales should also be subject to the reduced rate.
Significant reduction of taxes on representation: in order to increase the willingness of small and medium-sized businesses to represent themselves, a significant reduction in the cost of representation would be necessary. A big change would be to exempt the representation costs of companies up to a net annual amount of HUF 30m from the 13% social contribution tax. //
