The bakeries of the region joined their forces
The Kelet (East) ended in Budapest on 9 June on Saturday. In addition to the leaders of the bakery industry organizations of 5 countries, the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia, the Spanish secretary-general and ambassador of the Baker’s Union (UIBC) also attended the three-day event of the Hungarian Bakers’ Association.
Septe József, President of the Hungarian Bakers’ Association
The meeting revealed that the problems of the baking industry in the participating countries are the same, just like their goals. Each participant referred to the often unfavorable market behavior of the large food distribution chains, keeping the purchasing prices low, and the disproportionately strong bargaining power against suppliers.
