Oracle Retail: Many people are planning to spend Christmas on credit this year
Nearly 55% of shoppers said they would spend less overall due to current economic factors, and 68% said they would consider in-store credit to cover the cost of gifts. 42% of the respondents answered that the price will be the factor that primarily influences the purchase decision.
Along with inventory availability, price is the most important consideration in determining how and where consumers will shop this holiday season.
said Mike Webster, senior vice president and general manager of Oracle Retail.
According to new research by Oracle, inflation is encouraging European consumers to shop early and hunt for bargains, with 68% of them also considering credit for goods. Retailers use technology to optimize pricing and inventory to meet consumer demand.
