The decline in Czech retail continued in October
In October, retail trade in the Czech Republic decreased by 1.4 percent year-on-year after the 4.3 percent drop in September, the Czech Statistical Office (CSÚ) announced on Wednesday in Prague.
In an annual comparison, the decline in Czech retail trade has been going on for a year and a half, although the pace is gradually slowing down.
In a monthly comparison, the statistics already show a moderate increase. In October, growth amounted to 0.6 percent.
Compared to last year, the turnover of foodstuffs decreased by 2.7 percent in October, the turnover of industrial goods fell by one percent, while the turnover of fuels showed an increase of 0.8 percent.
The sale of clothing and footwear fell by 6.1 percent, the turnover of IT goods by 3.1 percent, and that of household goods by 2.9 percent.
