According to the 7,568 Hungarian respondents (aged 18-65 years), the 23 FMCG and 36 retail companies surveyed are more attractive employers than last year.
The most popular sector to work in is IT and BSS (business services sector) was ranked second; the pharmaceutical industry (life sciences) came in third. It is needless to say that salaries and benefits continue to be the leading factor in choosing a job, although their distance from the average criterion has decreased slightly (-3% points).
A pleasant working atmosphere is the second most important job choice factor, and the third is the financial stability of the given company. It is noteworthy how little we Hungarians take into account – compared with the European average – what the job is about, whether it is interesting or offers opportunities for further training.
Broken down by industry, we can see that retail trade is the most accessible – shops are everywhere.
Behind Libri it is dm and Ikea who are the most popular, while grocery retailers are naturally the most popular in terms of recognition: Tesco and Penny Market are a close second behind Aldi.
Lidl is the leader in terms of salaries and financial stability. FMCG performs slightly better among the industries. In terms of reputation and financial stability, the sector is perceived favourably, but in terms of salaries, development and working environment it still lags behind the Hungarian average.
Coca-Cola is the best known and most popular FMCG business in Hungary. Nestlé is second in popularity, but Heineken is the second best-known.
It is interesting that Procter & Gamble is considered by Hungarian employees to be the best paying company, but in terms of pleasant working atmosphere and work-life balance FrieslandCampina is the champion. In the second half of 2023 15% of Hungarian employees have already changed jobs and 30% are thinking about it.//
