Cultivated meat consumption is increasing in Western Europe
A recent survey has revealed that consumers are shifting to meat alternatives, often choosing plant-based products instead.

Consumer support for cultivated meat appears to increase
In the survey 4,096 people were interviewed across Germany, France, Italy and Spain about their meat consumption habits, and their attitudes toward sustainable sources of protein. The study was commissioned by Good Food Institute (GFI), a leading NGO promoting alternative proteins.
According to the results, more than 50% of consumers reduced their meat consumption in the last five years. Over 60% of respondents from each country believe that alternatives to conventional products from livestock farming should be available, and 57% of Germans, 33% of French, 55% of Italians, and 65% of Spaniards answered that they were willing to buy cultivated meat when available in Europe.
The survey found that consumers have heard about cultivated meat in most countries.
Many respondents think that cultivated meat would have a positive impact on the environment. Carlotte Lucas, corporate engagement manager at the GFI Europe told: with such growing support for cultivated meat, it is clear there will be a significant market for this type of food in Europe. //
