NGM: low inflation helps retail sales growth
The minimal inflation is contributing to real wage growth, so the households are able to buy more products, which also helps to achieve a growth in turnover – Lenner Áron Márk, Deputy Minister of State of the National Economy Ministry (NGM) told M1 news channel on Thursday, by commenting the newly released retail data of the Central Statistical Office (KSH).
The Deputy Minister of State emphasized that retail sales grew continuously in Hungary in July for the 25th consecutive month. The country's growth is twice of the EU average and the third in the EU.
Lenner Áron Márk drew attention to the fact that the increase in sales of non-food products such as clothing, electronics and other durable goods has also been launched in the past one year, not only the sales of food and food-related products. (MTI)
