Cheese Festival of Nations
Those who visited the 2nd SZEGA Cheese Festival of Nations in October had the opportunity to taste nearly 400 kinds of cheese made in 25 European countries and the USA. The event took place in the sports hall on Folyondár Street in Budapest, and organiser Ádám Gábossy told: Their aim was to raise the level of Hungary’s cheese culture, so many different programmes were organised for all age groups and levels of cheese knowledge.
There was a Cheese of the Nation competition too. Two international experts selected the winner, Balaton cheese by Kálmán Reményik, which will represent Hungary at the Mondial du Fromage. Major cheese by Bikácsi Sajtműhely won the silver medal and Pater cheese by Magyaralmási Zrt. finished third. //
