Bread not getting more expensive because of wheat
According to the press release of the Hungarian Chamber of Agriculture; The 300 HUF per kilo bread prices are not due to price increase of wheat.
In Hungary the harvest of cereals has already completed. As the result of the wet weather yield decreased by 13 percent, that means 5.227 million tonnes. The harvested wheat has medium quality, almost 2 million tonnes bread quality was harvested, while in Hungary, only 1.1 to 1.2 million tons are needed. Thus, the country can export up to several hundred thousand tonnes – reports Világgazdaság Online.
