Nébih: bird flu in Bács-Kiskun county
The laboratory of the National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih) has again confirmed the presence of highly pathogenic avian influenza virus in Bács-Kiskun County. The infection this time reached a fattening goose farm of about 3,500 geese, where the herd has already been eradicated on suspicion, the agency said on its website.
In the herd of about 3,500 fattening geese in Kiskunmajsa, Bács-Kiskun County, the increased mortality and nervous system symptoms drew the keeper’s attention to the suspicion of avian influenza. The Nébih laboratory confirmed the presence of the H5N1 subtype of the virus in the herd. (MTI)
