Evergreen plants in catering
From 1 July 2021, the Regulation on the release of single-use plastics will enter into force. The fresh plastic ban affects many restaurants and encourages restaurant operators to prefer environmentally friendly, reusable products. Creppy, a leader in green solutions, introduced the use of 100% degradable packaging a year ago.
More than 150 million tonnes of plastic currently pollute the world’s oceans, 70% of which is made up of disposable plastic products. In doing so, the environmental impact of plastic waste has taken place to a level that puts the entire ecosystem at risk. For this reason, the European Union adopted in May 2019 a directive banning single-use plastics, which it expects member states to introduce into national legislation by the 2021 deadline.
