MNB: Hungarian consumers became more conscious
Lending in Hungary is picking up again. Consumers are choosing more consciously, and the rules on borrowing also curb indebtedness – Binder István, supervisor spokesman of the National Bank of Hungary (MNB) told M1 news channel on Monday.
According to the spokesman, consumer awareness is also indicated by the fact that the share of fixed repayment installers has increased, although the overall rate of interest rates for these loans is slightly higher. He added that fixed repayments, as demonstrated by the examples of a number of European countries, should not be more expensive, so it would be worthwhile to change these. (MTI)
