MNB: a duality characterized the corporate loans in the second quarter
A duality characterized the corporate lendings in the second quarter, the overall corporate loan portfolio decreased by 3.4 percent, compared to a year before, while the small and medium enterprise (SME) segment, due to the strong support of the growth credit program (NHP) increased by 1.8 percent – Fábián Gergely director of the Hungarian National Bank (MNB) explained.
Fábián Gergely at a press conference on Monday in Budapest told that the corporate lending became more negative than expected (with the exception of the SME segment) its dynamics continue to be significantly lower than expected. He recalled that a 6-7 percent loan portfolio expansion support would be needed to reach a healthy growth – according to the Hungarian National Bank (MNB). (MTI)
