Common agricultural policy supports strengthening cooperation between traditional and landscape products, producers and all players of the value chain. The Ministry of Agriculture provides professional assistance to producer groups in the framework of the Geographical Goods Program for preparing their product descriptions and submitting their applications. As a result of the Geographical Promotemic Program, the number of Hungarian agricultural products with EU protected geographical goods, the Lamb of Clement, the Szabolcs apple and the Lajta cheese, and three regional brandy: the barbecue brandy, the Sárréti Kökénypálinka has increased to 87 this year as a result and the Cherry Pálinka of Nagykör received EU protection.
The program called “Traditional Tasks-Regions” was launched by the Ministry of Agriculture in 1998
