We protect the interests of farmers by all means
The government sees farmers as strategic partners and will protect their interests by all means, Minister of Agriculture István Nagy declared on Monday in Kalocsán at a forum organized as part of the agricultural country tour.

At the event, the minister drew attention to the fact that European agricultural policy has never been so imbued with extreme green ideologies. Therefore, the insult that farmers are responsible for climate change must be firmly rejected. Brussels cannot risk food security with its faulty measures, he added.
The minister said that the conditions for ensuring daily bread are in the hands of farmers, which is why they deserve help and protection
If we don’t protect the EU market, if agricultural products from Ukraine are released into the EU unchecked and unchecked, it will have unforeseeable consequences, as not only food security, but also the livelihood of producers and the future of Europe may be at risk. If farmers stop production, we will all be vulnerable, he emphasized.
István Nagy stated that the government sees farmers as strategic partners
That is why three times more resources are available for the development of the Hungarian agriculture and food industry than before. This is supported by the fact that last year, farmers received a record subsidy of more than HUF 1,300 billion. This year, the HUF 2,900 billion rural development funds will be used for the benefit of the Hungarian countryside, agriculture and food production, the government will supplement the HUF 600 billion EU funds with an additional HUF 2,300 billion until 2027, the minister emphasized.
