Chips to be shortened in Belgium and Great Britain
Chips will be three centimeters shorter in Belgium and Great Britain this year instead of the usual 8-9 centimeters lenght – Agrarszektor.hu wrote. The spectacular decline in potato tubers is due to the drought that has not been seen for more than 40 years, which hit the two countries not only in terms of size but also in crop yields.
This year was the hottest and driest summer in Britain since 1976, and heat was the biggest problem for potato producers – www.telegraph.co.uk wrote. The lack of precipitation has caused problems in Northern Europe, as the yield of potatoes decreased by 20 percent this year. (agrarszektor.hu)
