The Chinese police caught jellyfish counterfeiters
Jellyfish counterfeiters were caught by the police in eastern China, after they sold about 10 tons of artificially produced jellyfish on the market – the local mediareported on Wednesday.
The three suspects started making the fake delicacy with sodium alginate, calcium chloride and aluminum sulfate in June of 2015. Since then, they have made more than 70,000 yuan in profits. Yuan was aware that the fake jellyfish could be unhealthy or even dangerous. (MTI, Trebitsch Péter)
