Malizia in Hungary
After nearly a year of planning, 8-time World Pastry and Gelato Champion Davide Malizia visited Budapest in November. He held a 3-day workshop at the craft union’s training centre.

Malizia in action
The aim of the course was to introduce techniques and ingredients that enable the use of balanced textures and contemporary combinations in everyday confectionery. Davide Malizia has won the world championship title once as a competitor and seven times as a trainer or team captain.
At the course the interpretation and hostess role was undertaken by the excellent Hungarian ice cream master, Dr Renáta Regőczy-Somogyi. Davide Malizia presented ten products in detail and the participants had nothing but praise for the course.

The lucky participants had the chance to learn from a world champion
“I had a great time and I think the Hungarian team should compete in the next Ice Cream World Championship too, because they are very good”,
summarised Davide Malizia.
“We learned a lot and gained a lot of professional insight during these few days. We saw where we can still improve and learned how to do it”,
said Balázs Erdélyi at the end of the workshop.
