During the project 703 respondents shared their opinions with the organisers over a four-day period. The Sensobus (a mobile sensory analysis laboratory) was stationed at two prominent locations – the Auchan store in Budaörs and the Interspar store in Érd – where consumers could participate in the research while shopping.

“Our objective is to get a deeper understanding of the characteristics of local markets and to develop our products based on the data we collect. Sensobus gives us the opportunity to get feedback directly from consumers”,

explained Bianka Erős, product manager of Puratos.

The research is conducted in the immediate vicinity of shopping.

During the research participants tasted four product categories made with three different fats: butter, margarine and Mimetic 32 – an innovative fat solution by Puratos. Croissants made with Mimetic 32 proved to be the best in terms of taste and freshness.

Why Sensobus?

Sensobus offers instant consumer insight by testing with the target group in a real shopping environment. The rolling laboratory can reach up to 300 potential consumers per day, meaning that sampling can be representative of the target group. Sensobus supports product innovation: the information obtained can be used to make decisions about recipes, packaging and pricing, especially for bakery, confectionery, and chocolate products.
