Almond Apricot – Ádám Sztaracsek and Péter Szirmai – Jánoska Confectionery, Komárom
Almond Apricot emphasises classic Hungarian characteristics in flavours, ingredients and creation, but it also stresses the cake’s artisan nature.
Tipsy Fig and Respect – Pál Lakatos – Levendula és Kert Confectionery, Szigetszentmiklós
The name reflects the respect we owe to the people who taught and mentored us, the figures who played an important role in our lives. Tipsy jokingly refers to the wine content of the fig jelly.
Hungarian Highwayman’s Raspberry – Krisztián Füredi – Hisztéria Confectionery, Tápiószecső
Why Hungarian Highwayman? It is Hungarian, it is a bit of a bandit, modern and suggests that it involves a little deception – and it is a little hot as well!
Lavender Dream – Iuliia Antipina – Cakes & More by Garannikova, Budapest
Lavender and blueberry are combined perfectly in this cake. This Hungaricum makes everyone think of the Tihany Peninsula.
Cserszegi Fűszeres – Almond Cake – Béla Németh – Sütibolt, Keszthely
One of the cake’s main ingredients is Cserszegi Fűszeres wine, but it also contains Hungarian acacia honey and almond in several formats.
Ponderer – Barbara Szabóné Tarján – Nonna Desszertbár, Szada
My grandparents were once sitting by the shores of Lake Balaton, sipping Tokaj wines and watching the beautiful sunset – this is where the cake’s name comes from. //
