The research group of Ecowian Magyarország Kft., which offers disinfection and cleaning solutions, and the biotechnology research institute of the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences (MATE) have found a solution against the tomato brown wrinkle virus, which endangers the cultivation of tomatoes and peppers, Kormos István told MTI.

The Hungarian innovation is environmentally friendly and helps to protect against the mechanical spread of the virus. Ecowian’s R&D team has successfully stabilized a substance found in the white blood cells of the human body, hypochlorous acid. It is produced by the immune system as the first line of defense at scars to fight infections from salt and water in the body. This extremely simple, yet broad-spectrum (bactericidal, fungicidal, virucidal, sporicidal) natural solution offers the solution against ToBRFV. (MTI)
