ULINK: connections are a value, use them!
Ever since I started working, I have been building my network of connections. This activity is an integral part of a manager’s work, just like laying down a strategy, delegating tasks or managing projects. ULINK is a special network of connections, which is based on the fact that all members used to be Unilever employees or they still are. The annual meeting of ULINK members took place on 25 May. It was the 10th time that we came together.
In her welcome speech Regina Kuzmina, managing director of Unilever Hungary talked about the importance of managing changes well. After lunch I gave a presentation about the many changes that occurred in the lives ULINK members, using lots of photos and messages sent from abroad. After this participants enjoyed a delicious dinner which was prepared by the chefs of Unilever Food Solutions.
The programme continued with three former Unilever workers introducing their present careers. Edina has a wine tourism business in Etyek, Gábor is the director of SOS Children’s Villages, while Péter has just started his own business after a 4-year period as SABMiller’s marketing director in Tenerife. After these conversation there was a raffle, with exciting prizes offered by sponsors such as Neckermann, Ford, BMW, Danubius, LUX, Royal Canin and Zwack. The plan is to continue organising ULINK parties – I do hope that I will be still doing the same in 2027! /
