KSH: Retail sales increased more than previously expected
In August, retail sales volume grew by 4.7 percent over the same period of the previous year, according to the raw data and calendar effect adjusted – according to the second estimate of the Central Statistical Office (KSH) published on Tuesday. The second estimate is 0.1 percentage points higher than the first estimate released on 4 October.
Non-food retail sales continued to show the largest increase with 7.9 percent, compared to the 7.7 percent indicated in the first estimate, but the calendar effect adjusted 2.6 percent increase in fuel sales was somewhat behind the mixed food and food sales growth of 2.9 percent.
