KSH: agricultural producer prices increased by 31.0 percent

In December last year, agricultural purchase prices were 31.0 percent higher than a year earlier, with statistics showing an average increase of 19.3 percent last year, according to the latest data from the Central Statistical Office (KSH).

Maize producer prices up 57 percent year-on-year


The annual rise in December was 2.8 percentage points higher than in November.

The rise in prices of crop and horticultural products accelerated by 2.6 percentage points to 38.6 percent from November. The rise in prices of live animals and animal products rose by 5.6 percentage points to 15.4 percent, of which the rise in the purchase price of live animals rose by 9.8 percentage points to 17.5 percent. The price of pigs for slaughter was still 7.4 percent cheaper in November than a year ago, and 7.3 percent more expensive in December, which is a change of 14.7 percentage points. (MTI)
