KSH: The turnover of retail stores increased by 16.2 percent
As a result of the significant base effect, the volume of retail trade in March was 16.2 percent higher than a year before, according to both raw and calendar-adjusted data, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said on Wednesday.
The turnover in food and food-type mixed stores was 0.2 percent higher, ie essentially the same as in March last year. The sales volume of food-type mixed stores, which account for 76 percent of retail trade in food, decreased by 0.3 percent, while that of food, beverages and tobacco stores increased by 2.4 percent.
