Golden jackals cause nearly one billion HUF damage to the sheep breeders every year
Golden jackals, stray dogs and thefts cause nearly one billion HUF damage to the sheep breeders every year. According to the sheep breeders a law amendment would be necessary to reduce the extent of the damages – origo wrote after Magyar Hírlap.
Juhász Pál, vice president of the Hungarian Sheep and Goat Farmers’ Association told that shepherds face serious problems in connection with the golden jackals. He referred to the fact that in 1989, the golden jackal was extinct from Hungary, but in the nineties re-emerged in the southern counties because of the former Yugoslavian wars. (origo, MTI)
