K&H: Every fifth SME would share their business premises to cut costs
The economic events of the past 3 years have not spared the entrepreneurial sector. Trade and industry are in a particularly difficult situation, which has resulted in many shop closures and a decrease in the volume of industrial production. This challenging period calls for new, cost-effective solutions. According to K&H’s research, every fifth company would share its business premises or office, thus reducing its costs, and every fourth company would do so if they complemented the activities of each other’s businesses. Among the sectors, the construction industry, which faces serious challenges, is the most open to this possibility.
Domestic businesses are going through a difficult 3 years, according to KSH data, commerce and industry are suffering the most in the current economic situation. Retail turnover has been decreasing for a year, as a result of which a total of 4,500 convenience stores were closed last year. The volume of industrial production has been on a downward trajectory since September, and it is not yet clear when the trend will pick up again.
Based on the latest results of the K&H SME confidence index, inflation (36%) and rising energy costs (35%) cause difficulties for more than a third of companies. Since, according to forecasts, double-digit inflation will remain with us this year, businesses must also adapt to this.
“Difficult periods are not only challenges but also opportunities, just think of the home office spread during the pandemic or the rise of digital solutions. These new solutions can greatly help businesses to operate more efficiently and to grow. That’s why we renewed the K&H: shop here! the map application of the program, through which the population and businesses can get up-to-date information about discontinued, temporarily closed or missing shops in the given area”
– said Zoltán Rammacher, head of K&H SME marketing and sales support.
