The PET cup ended with the collection of two and a half tons of waste
The PET cup cleared the Tisza River from two and a half tons, more than 30 thousand plastic bottles and other debris. This year a record number of participants took part in the PET cup.
The transportation of the waste – collected by the crew of 16 ships – ends within days, and then the recycling can begin – the organizers told MTI.
This year, the 3rd PET cup reached its goal: a record number of participants collected a record amount of waste and cleaned the Tisza’s section between Vásárosnamény and Cigánd. The participants collected the garbage from the river and from the coast in six days. (MTI)
