Hungary industrial output rose 6.1% yr/yr in January
Unadjusted figures show a 10.9% rise in exports and no change in domestic sales compared to January 2007.
Hungary’s industrial production rose
6.1% in January compared to a year earlier according to both working
day-adjusted and unadjusted figures, the Central Statistical Office
(KSH) said Friday.
The second reading figure is down from
a preliminary 6.6% increase published on March 7. Even with the
downward revisiton, the pace of growth picked up after slowing to
5.3% year-on-year in December. 2007 output rose 8.1%. The monthly
growth was 1.0% in January, revised down 0.3% points from preliminary
figures. According to working day-adjusted figures, industrial export
sales volume rose 18.5% year-on-year in January, and domestic sales
rose just 2.7% in one year.
