Food buying habits of Hungarians
Rama has conducted a nationwide representative survey on the food buying habits of Hungarians. 58% of respondents claimed that price is one of the top 3 most important factors influencing their food buying decisions. Taste finished second with 56% of participants listing it in the top 3. Being a healthy choice was named in the top 3 by 45% of respondents, making it the third most important factors influencing their food purchasing decisions.
Although half of the consumers agreed that a plant-based diet puts a smaller burden on the environment, they also said sustainability considerations don’t have an impact on their purchasing decisions. Another contradiction is that 40% said plant-based foods are healthier, but half of the respondents reckon that eating animal-based foods suits the human body’s needs better. //
