This is how the shops will be open on the long weekend of August 20
August 20th falls on a Tuesday this year, which means that this holiday will also be a public holiday, so most shops will be closed. Below is a summary of the opening hours of Aldi, Auchan, CBA, Príma, Lidl, Metro, Penny, Spar and Interspar, Tesco, as well as pharmacies, gas stations and convenience stores during the holiday weekend.
Aldi
Aldi stores will operate according to normal opening hours between August 17 and 19. However, all Aldi will be closed on Tuesday, August 20. The stores will reopen on Wednesday, August 21, according to their usual opening hours.
Auchan
Auchan hypermarkets are waiting for customers according to normal opening hours between August 17 and 19, but will be closed on August 20. They will return to regular business hours on August 21st.
CBA and Prima
The CBA and Príma stores will operate according to the usual opening hours between August 17 and 19, and will be closed on August 20. They will reopen as usual on August 21.
Lidl
Lidl discounters will be open as usual between August 17 and 19, but will be closed on August 20. They will reopen according to normal opening hours on August 21.
Penny
Penny stores will be open for normal business hours from August 17th to 19th. All Penny stores will be closed on August 20th, but will reopen as usual on August 21st.
Spar and Interspar

Tesco stores will operate as usual between August 17 and 19. However, all Tescos will be closed on August 20, with the exception of Tesco Express stores at Shell petrol stations, which will remain open. On August 21, the shops will be open according to the usual opening hours.
Pharmacies, gas stations and convenience stores
On August 20, most pharmacies will be closed, so it is worth taking care of the necessary medicines in advance. The exception is pharmacies on duty, which are also open on this day. Gas station shops, as well as small shops operating non-stop, such as the Roni and Manna stores in Budapest, will also be open on August 20. The opening hours of small shops that are completely privately owned depend on the owner’s decision.
