Hungarian melon consumption increased by twenty percent during the campaign
Melon consumption in Hungary increased by twenty percent during the four-week campaign aimed at the promotion of melon – the Minister of State of the Ministry of Agriculture told on Tuesday in Zánka, at the campaign closing press conference.
Zsigó Róbert Minister of State said that the campaign aimed to increase the consumption of fresh Hungarian melon, which is important because since 2011, when the National Watermelon program has started, 11 thousand families are living from the cultivation of melons. They produce an annual 220-240 thousand tons of melons. (MTI)
