Sokac bean festival at the weekend in Mohács
Recalling an old Sokac tradition, pottery bean cooking will be held in Mohács on the first Saturday of August, for the 25th occasion, to recall the memory of the former arable landworks.
The dishes made in the covered pots are derived from the older South Slavs working on the land, who – in order to work and have lunch as well- put the beans flavored with smoked meat in a clay pot with a fire burning beside them. The tile brick did not touch the fire, only the heat warmed its contents. (MTI)
