Easter ham market over seven billion HUF last year
The retail sales of ham and smoked meat generated revenues of over 7 billion HUF around Easter in March-April last year. This is 5 percent more than in the same period of a year before – the Nielsen Retail Index reveals.
In terms of volume retail sales increased by 16 percent.
The demand is highly concentrated: the higher quality cooked ham took 93 percent of the value of all sales took a during March-April last year. An additional 1 percent was reached by the smoked cooked segment and 6 percent to “other” hams.
