We prefer to order monthly packages of diapers and fabric softeners in XXL packaging from drugstores
The number of online orders from drugstores is rising spectacularly, according to data from Rossmann and data-driven, same-day home delivery specialist DODO. This trend mostly applies to larger orders and already well-known products, while personal purchases are still typical for smaller volume purchases. As a result, the basket value of online purchases is typically higher than that of store sales. Most people usually order baby products online, including large-sized diapers, wipes, and formulas. Customers also prefer home delivery of household goods available in similar sizes, such as fabric softeners and washing agents or toilet paper, selected from Rossmann’s webshop.
The trend of the last three years clearly shows that the demand for purchasing other household products online has increased, in addition to food. Some of the most common choices include larger, hard-to-carry items such as some baby products, such as monthly diaper packs or formula. In addition, it is common to buy already well-known and well-proven household goods, for which it is not necessarily necessary for the buyer to personally handle and examine the product before making a decision. In addition to the increasing number of orders, the fast and efficient delivery of packages of different sizes and mixed compositions is a special logistical task. In order to further increase the delivery capacity and deliver as accurately as possible, Rossmann and the smart logistics service provider DODO started cooperation last year. Thanks to their partnership, products purchased at the Rossmann Online Pharmacy are delivered within five hours, with a one-hour time window for locations in the capital and agglomerations.
