Sopron 1895 premium lager beer may soon be made with a new ingredient
Hop growing has had a long tradition in Hungary, but in recent decades hungarian cultivation has almost completely disappeared. This tradition was to be revived by the joint program of HEINEKEN Hungária and the Ecumenical Relief Organization, which started three years ago, which has been taking place since the beginning with the supportive cooperation of the Ministry of Agriculture. The aim of the initiative is to increase the quantity of high-quality Hungarian raw materials in the production of beer, and to contribute to the livelihoods of families living in the disadvantaged region who are involved in cultivation and processing. At the end of the summer of 2021, the harvest took place for the second time in Castle Hill, for which this year the visitors were invited to the event with an even larger and more colorful family-music program than last year.
