Hungary’s fresh fruit exports can be ground on bananas
Hungarian banana consumption steadily rising for twenty years and at the same time, the re-export. Fifty-three percent of the fresh fruit export comes from banana export in the winter months.
According to Flamm Tibor owner of Starking Zrt. banana trading company, the crisis affected badly in the first half of 2009. Compared to the same period of last year's a 30 percent decline occured in the quantity of imported bananas.
In Hungary, about twenty companies are dealing with banana ripening and trade. Despite the crisis the Hungarian companies stand the trust of the export partners which is evidenced by the ongoing funding opposite to the rest of the region – reports Napi Gazdaság.
