According to the statement issued on Tuesday’s event, Minister of Agriculture István Nagy spoke at the meeting, praising the fact that the Hungarian grape and wine industry is leading Hungarian agriculture. The Ministry of Agriculture and the National Council of Mountain Communities have a privileged partnership – the minister emphasized.
According to István Nagy, the Ministry of Agriculture and the National Council of Mountain Communities must jointly find solutions in several areas
He listed here the possibilities of automation in the labor market, adaptation to changing climate conditions, the issue of disproportionate environmental protection EU regulations that make production more difficult, greater sales of wine on export markets, improving the relationship between winegrowers and wine buyers, improving sector profitability, following consumption trends, and the promotion of moderate and quality wine consumption among young consumers. István Nagy expressed his hope that the market organization measures initiated by the HNT, such as interprofessional wine marketing and the provision of biological funds, will continue in the future. These two programs are a good example of the fact that the winegrowers and winemakers themselves want to do something to improve their market situation, recognize the problem, develop the strategy and implement the measures, he said, according to the announcement.
At the meeting, János Frittmann, the new president of the HNT, pointed out that this work will only be effective if it involves the producers
He called it his personal goal that the producers feel the mountain commune system even more their own. At the meeting, the ten-member presidency began its professional work after the handover between Ottó Légli, the outgoing president of the HNT, and János Frittmann, the newly elected president, the HNT informed in its statement.
