The National Chamber of Agrarian Economy and the Corvinus University of Budapest are organizing a professional event and market presentation in the capital under the title Producer’s market in the XXI.. At the event organized by the Corvinus University of Budapest on May 7, the focus will be on sustainability, an environmentally conscious future, the trend and success of farmers’ markets, the farmers’ access to the market, and the conditions necessary to stay on the market.

The National Chamber of Agrarian Economy considers the support of small producers, promotion of their access to the market and information as a priority goal. The NAK registers farmers’ markets, and the chamber has contributed to the opening of many farmers’ markets in recent years, with the aim of supporting and promoting domestic products, so that reliable, high-quality Hungarian products reach consumers’ tables.

In this spirit, on May 7, 2024, NAK organized a professional event in cooperation with Corvinus University of Budapest

The event will feature a number of professional lectures, which will focus on sustainability, the environmentally conscious future, the international and domestic trends and success of the local producer markets, on the producers’ access to the market and the knowledge transfer necessary for the conditions of staying on the market.

The choice of location and the impact of markets on the local economy will also be discussed, as well as the different types of markets

Based on consumer surveys carried out within the framework of the research project of Corvinus University of Budapest, it sheds light on who are the customers who visit modern farmers’ markets. It presents the most important characteristics and qualities of consumers who go to a typical farmer’s market in the context of an international perspective. In addition to all this, farmers can find out about packaging techniques, the extended producer responsibility system, and the development of producer networks. During the event, a producer’s market presentation awaits those interested. The producers introduce themselves, the visitors can learn about the characteristics of their farms, the success of their product production and sales, and last but not least, they can taste the products they produce. All in all, the event provides useful presentations and information both for the producers who sell at the markets and for the organizers of the producers’ markets.
